Philippines Cebu island
Moal Boal Sampaguita Resort
Cebu Island, on the Philippines, is located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Equator. Here, and more precisely near the small village of Moal Boal, the Sampaguita Resort can be found, the ideal starting point for the most beautiful diving actions in this area. The Resort, run by Sergio Forti, has characteristic bungalows in local style, perfectly in harmony with the surrounding environment. Diving in this area is not only very beautiful, but it is also easy and suitable for everybody. The temperature of the water never falls below 26° C and can go up to 30° C. The visibility is never excellent due to the quantity of plankton, but it is still fair. Practically there are no currents. Furthermore the most spectacular views can be enjoyed in low sea, and the safety stop is made on the reef in about five meters below sea level..

IThe diving sites are along the coast and can be quickly reached. Only a few locations are between thirty and forty minutes away by boat, but they are worth a visit. The Pescador Island deserves some words on its own: located ten boat minutes from the Resort, the Island is surrounded by low seas of six, seven metres depth that suddenly drop down forty meters. Usually the immersions start on the west side in order to reach the east point following either the south or the north coast. The environment is very colourful and it is easy to find coloured frog fish of all sizes. On the west side of the Island, thirty-three meters below sea level, there is a beautiful cave with numerous holes which -at the right moment of the day and when the weather is sunny- filter the sunrays creating a magic atmosphere inside. The wall in front of the Resort is very interesting too, for day as well as for night immersions.
